For king beds, the best rug sizes are 6 x 9 feet, 8 x 10 feet, and 9 x 12 feet. With a 6 x 9 rug, the upper half of the bed and nightstands won't be on the rug. With an 8 x 10 rug, the upper one-third won't go on the rug. Bear in mind that if you place a rug only partially under the bed, a flatter weave is ideal to prevent an uneven feel.
